Financing commercial real estate, whether it be for acquisition, development, construction or permanent financing, requires a unique combination of legal skills and experience. The members of our Secured Real Estate Lending team listen to our clients to best understand their business needs and goals, and how those are impacted by such forces as the economic environment. With that in mind, we are able to best utilize our legal knowledge and experience to meet those needs and help our clients achieve their goals.
We regularly act for lenders (including banks, trust companies, credit unions, and other institutional lenders) and borrowers in financings for single family residential, multi-family residential (rental and condominium), commercial, industrial and retail properties, and possess a deep understanding of the nuances that come with each different type of property.
Even in the best of times, lenders and borrowers may find themselves with a problematic financing situation. Our Mortgage Remedies team has the experience, in both favourable and less favourable economic conditions, to quickly grasp the situation and implement the best solution for our clients. We appreciate that while mortgage remedies may often be straightforward, changing economic environments and client needs may require a creative flair, which we are well situated to implement where necessary to best protect our client’s interests.
