Magna Carta tour begins; Len Rodness speaks about bringing the 800-year-old document to Canada
Overview
On Friday, June 12, the Magna Carta will officially debut at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Quebec. This is the result of nearly four years of work by Len and Suzy Rodness to bring the historical document to Canada in honour of its 800th anniversary.
"The Magna Carta has a true iconic status as a symbol for rights and freedoms worldwide," Rodness told Canada AM.
The Magna Carta will be on display in Ottawa until July 26, then move on to Winnipeg from Aug. 15 to Sept. 18, Toronto from Oct. 4 to Nov. 7, and Edmonton from Nov. 23 to 26.
