Torkin Manes is honoured to congratulate our founding partner, Ronald Manes, on his recent conferral of an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree granted by Convocation, the governing body of the Law Society of Ontario (“LSO”).
As one of the highest honours of the LSO, the Doctor of Laws is bestowed upon those in recognition of outstanding achievements in service to the legal profession or extraordinary accomplishments that have benefited the public, nationally and internationally.
Throughout his distinguished career, Ron has made significant contributions to the practice and reputation of the legal profession, in addition to his outstanding track record as a fearless advocate. A true visionary, Ron championed advancing and promoting access to justice and equity through pro bono efforts, demonstrated outstanding leadership as an elected bencher of the LSO for an impressive five consecutive terms, and established and grew a successful and respected law firm.
