South Asian Bar Association of North America honours Annie Tayyab with Rising Star Award

Torkin Manes LLP is pleased to announce that Annie (Qurrat-ul-ain) Tayyab was honoured with the Rising Star Award in recognition of her professional success in law, as well as her outstanding contributions to the communities in which she works and lives.

In addition to her busy litigation practice at the firm, Annie has sat on the board of the South Asian Bar Association of Toronto for many years, in positions as Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President, and was instrumental in developing new programming and advocacy initiatives in response to the evolving needs of SABA Toronto’s membership. She is an active member of the Young Advocates’ Standing Committee of The Advocates’ Society, has been the Secretary of the Ontario Class Actions Bench-Bar Liaison Committee, a volunteer with Pro Bono Ontario, and a mentor with Muslims Achieving Excellence (MAX). She also sits on the board of Visual Arts Mississauga, a not-for-profit dedicated to arts education and community engagement in the Greater Toronto Area.
