Torkin Manes is pleased to announce the promotion of five of our lawyers—Lauren Crosby, Noorin Manji, Leslie McGowran, Ashley Staley and David Witkowski—to the partnership, effective immediately.

Collectively and individually, they are tremendous assets to their areas of expertise, as well as to the firm as a whole.
A member of the firm’s Not-for-Profit & Charities Group, Lauren Crosby works with a diverse range of clients, including public and private foundations, charitable organizations, social enterprises, municipalities, and non-profits. Clients turn to Lauren for assistance with incorporation, drafting and interpreting by-laws, obtaining and maintaining charitable registration, drafting and negotiating contracts, and mergers. Over the years, Lauren has become a trusted advisor to her clients, always keeping their best interests top of mind.
Noorin Manji is a member of the firm’s Commercial Real Estate Group, where she routinely advises on the acquisition, disposition, development, financing and leasing of real property. In addition to her broad commercial real estate practice, Noorin acts for developers and builders on their condominium and subdivision projects, managing the full project lifecycle, from the acquisition, financing and development of the lands to the sale of lots and units. Dedicated to service excellence, Noorin brings practical and effective advice, while maintaining a collaborative approach with opposing parties to ensure her clients’ ultimate goals are achieved.
As a member of the Banking & Financial Services and Corporate/Commercial Groups, Leslie McGowran’s practice encompasses all aspects of the financial services sector and includes a variety of debt financing transactions and advisory services to public, institutional, and private clients. She advises on a wide range of transactions, such as asset-based loans, secured and unsecured financings, including private equity sponsored acquisitions, cross-border loans, syndicated and bilateral loans, and vendor-take-back arrangements. To her practice, Leslie employs a practical approach to client service, with exceptional responsiveness and a commitment to understanding her clients’ needs and objectives.
Ashley Staley is a member of the firm’s Corporate/Commercial Group, where she focuses on a wide range of corporate law matters, including mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of businesses. With service excellence at the forefront, Ashley works collaboratively with clients at each stage of a transaction.
With broad experience in corporate/commercial law, David Witkowski’s practice has a particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, general policy development and various commercial matters. Dave takes a practical approach to law, focusing on helping clients navigate complex legal and business matters in a timely and effective manner.
