Torkin Manes Partner Laurie Pawlitza expands family law services with the launch of the Minerva Group

Torkin Manes is pleased to congratulate our partner, Laurie Pawlitza, on the successful launch of the Minerva Group, an association of senior family law lawyers with more than 150 years of combined experience practising family law in Ontario.

Having built a robust family law practice over the past 35 years, Laurie, alongside the other four founding members (Avra Rosen, Kelly D. Jordan, Martha McCarthy and Georgina Carson), established this practice as a means of offering timely and critical access to mediation, arbitration, and litigation management services, making it a perfect complement to her family law practice at Torkin Manes.

A skilled family law mediator/arbitrator, Laurie has been consistently recognized for her family law excellence in Lexpert and Best Lawyers in Canada. Between 2010 and 2012, she was elected as the 63rd Treasurer (president) of the Law Society of Ontario, the third woman to have held the post since the Society’s founding in 1797. She also earned an Honorary Doctorate for her work in the profession, and has a regular family law column in the National Post.
