Aleksandar Jovanovic

A partner in the firm’s Litigation and Construction Law Groups, Aleksandar leverages his exceptional advocacy and negotiation skills to achieve results for his clients on a broad range of commercial and construction disputes. He has represented clients on various complex matters, including the prosecution and defence of multi-million dollar construction lien and oppression actions, as well as the interpretation and enforcement of contractual provisions.

Aleksandar is a trusted advisor with a strong business acumen and pragmatic approach, who seeks out creative and business-oriented solutions to disputes while always protecting his clients’ rights and interests. He has a proven track record of successfully representing and negotiating on behalf of developers, general contractors and trade contractors, whether in the boardroom or before arbitral tribunals and all levels of Court.

Aleksandar possesses specialized construction expertise in residential high-rise condominiums and litigation concerning subsurface site conditions. He also routinely represents general contractors and residential homeowners in disputes over major renovations and new-builds. 

To complement his practice, Aleksandar co-authored the Canadian chapter in the international publication, “Finding, Freezing and Attaching Assets: A Multi-Jurisdictional Handbook”. He is also dedicated to giving back to his community through various volunteer activities, including his annual participation in the Sporting Life 10K, the Run for the Cure, and feeding the homeless through Ve’ahavta.
